Dutch Puzzle

Sample Quilt Layouts

The Dutch Puzzle quilt block is a four patch design featuring two different sized half square triangles. The directional nature of the block can lead to some interesting variations in your quilt layout.

Rotate blocks by 90 degree increments or group the blocks in sets of four to create all sorts of quilt layouts to choose from. The two sample quilts shown below use this technique. The quilt layout shown on the left uses the blocks in a straight side by side setting, while the quilt on the right places the blocks on point to get a different effect, and the extra pops of colour are then added in the setting triangles.
